Day in Kokura IV: Hangin' in the Big City

Here we have the lovely Marcia at a supposedly Italian restaurant in Riverwalk, a mall in Korkura overlooking...you guessed it a river. Behind her, in the distance you can see Kokura Castle.

Speaking of castles, check this out.

Heeey!

Hey it's Marcia and her bag.

Day in Kokura III: City of the Future

Wow, you can't go far in the world with out running into a McDonald's.

Kokura has a very futuristic look to it.

Once again "A Hot Mess".

Day in Kokura II: Love the kids

More pictures of the interesting dance groups we saw in Kokura. This 1st group I've named "A Hot Mess". There costumes were so un-Japanese and unbelievably tacky that I had to give you a back view as well as a front view.

These kids were so cute and most were pretty good dancers. It was a real treat to stumble upon this.

Day in Kokura

This post documents our 1st time visiting the city of Kokura. We went with our friend and co-worker Marcia. We lucked up and stumbled into some sort of festival. They had many dance groups with interesting custumes and great routines. We never did find out what the festival was all about.

Nakatsu Gion Festival VI

Here we have "The Amazing"Jorge with Kazu's girlfriend Emi at TroppiCocco's.

Here we have some the more interesting food items available at the festival. Yes, it is octopuss-on-a-stick.
Here I am taking an impromptu dance lesson with Yoko at Troppi's.

Nakatsu Gion Festival V: Dude Look's Like a Lady

Trying to post the last pictures from the Gion festival. Let's play a game, shall we? Try to tell the real chicks from the chicks with, ahem, something extra. "It's a man, baby!"
