We're not twins. We're not related. We don't even like each other a lot of the time. But we got married anyway and decided to complicate things even further by spending our first newlywed year living in Oita, Japan.

Instant Japanese
If you thought "Saturday Night at Baskin Robbins" was indicative of a boring weekend, you haven't seen anything yet. I now present to you your first lesson in Japanese-- starring The Amazing Jorge.

The futon that we know of America does not exist in Japan. The Japanese sleep on a "futon"--which is really a pallet-like apparatus that is indeed on the floor--much to the chagrin of my hipbones.
